May progress and new pieces
Share
May has been a busy month! I've had a few family trips, had a visit to my dad's home town of Pettigo and enjoyed the beaches of Donegal with the kids and taking photos for some future projects; plenty of inspiration, as always, on the West Coast! We also paid a visit to the beautiful Galway and almost got blown away in Salthill!
I am working on a piece at the minute, trying to develop my style with oil paints. I am enjoying this new medium for me, a step away from acrylics; I am at the underpainting stage where it looks messy, but stay tuned to see how it takes shape (hopefully, the way I have pictured it in my head). As with life, it's a process that you have to trust and enjoy; no matter how it turns out, it's all a learning experience!
I have also been chosen, alongside other artists, to participate in an art exhibition for Féile an Phobail in the summer, which I am so excited for. Being from a city, I love discovering little hidden gems of green space to explore. I enjoy being outdoors and love being out in nature (even in our climate!) I want to use the paintings I do for this exhibition to really explore the value of having green spaces in an urban environment for both mental and physical health, but also for fostering a sense of community.
I'd love to hear what you think, feel free to drop me a comment or connect with me on social media or email.
Thanks for being here and coming along for the journey!
